Hospice is an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals and trained volunteers who provide services and support to persons with limited life expectancy and their loved ones.

HOSPICE GOALS

To provide home care services that support the dying individuals dignity, respect and right of choice.

To provide for the individual's medical requirements and for the spiritual and emotional needs of both individual and their loved ones.

To give family and friends an opportunity to share actively in the care, comfort and support of the dying individual.

To make an individual’s final days as pain free as possible.

All care is under a physician’s supervision and orders.

VOLUNTEERS ARE ESSENTIAL TO HOSPICE CARE

Volunteers are sensitive, caring persons from the community who have been carefully screened and trained to serve the families of the terminally ill member.

Volunteers have a variety of skills that can be used to provide relief for families of the terminally ill.

Volunteer service is coordinated and supervised by an employee of Okanogan Regional Home Health and Hospice.

In coordination with the Hospice team, and physician plan of treatment volunteers may perform other services to assist the patient and family.
